Dear Jenni,

Thank you for confirming my suspicions about the link between taking steroids long term and the risk of Addison's disease. I really don't know what to say and feel for you, the medics having known about the potential risks should have provided better care and closer monitoring of your condition.

Over the years I have taken oral steroids off and on for my asthma and more recently for RA. Now that I have been diagnosed with a growth in my adrenal gland, which is currently being investigated, I have decided, if I can cope, to try and avoid taking steroids.

Take care and thinking of you,

Love,

Barbara

So sorry about this, Jenni, words don't seem enough. I just hope you get the correct treatment, and a drug that works for you.
